Keeping your home clean and well-organized can be quite challenging. Daily tasks pile up, and certain chores often end up at the bottom of the to-do list.
One of my neglected tasks is cleaning my shower screen. While I quickly wipe it down during bathroom cleaning sessions, it rarely receives a thorough cleaning for months.
This overlooked chore becomes glaringly obvious as soon as you step into the bathroom, especially when the sunlight accentuates the grime.
However, I recently discovered a simple and cost-effective solution to tackle shower glass grime without needing a squeegee.
Previously, I would spray glass cleaner on the screen, let it sit, and wipe it off with a sheet of kitchen roll. Although not the most eco-friendly method, it was quick and effective.
But then, I stumbled upon a TikTok video suggesting using a soft kitchen pad with a bit of dish soap for extra shine. With several of these pads in my cleaning arsenal, I decided to give it a try.
Surprisingly, I had never thought of using a sponge pad for glass cleaning before, fearing it might create streaks or spread dust. I applied dish soap on the soft side of the pad—avoiding the rough side to prevent scratches—and gently cleaned the glass in circular motions.
Areas near the bottom of the glass, which were especially foggy and grimy, received extra attention. The marks lifted off effortlessly, outperforming any glass cleaner I had used previously. After a quick rinse and a repeat of the process, it only took about five minutes.
The glass looked remarkably clear at this point, albeit with a few water smears. I used a fresh pad to buff away the remaining marks, resulting in crystal-clear glass that almost seemed invisible in photos.
