A travel company specializing in selling combined flight and accommodation packages has recently declared bankruptcy, resulting in the cancellation of all existing reservations.
Regen Central Ltd, a travel agency established in Hertfordshire, UK, in 2011, officially entered into liquidation on January 13, as per the records filed with Companies House.
The company offered holiday packages encompassing flights and accommodations to various destinations across Europe and Southeast Asia, operating under multiple brand names such as One Haji & Umrah, Regen Travels, and Oneworld Travels.
An announcement on the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) website confirms that the firm, which held an Air Travel Organisers’ Licence (ATOL), ceased trading last week.
ATOL, overseen by the CAA, is a UK initiative designed to safeguard consumers financially in the event of a package holiday provider going out of business, ensuring refunds or repatriation for affected travelers. However, ATOL protection does not extend to accommodation-only or non-flight packages.
The statement released by CAA stated that there were no ATOL-protected bookings outstanding with the company, clarifying that bookings for accommodation-only, non-flight packages, and flight-only reservations with issued tickets are not covered by ATOL.
Since there are no pending ATOL-protected bookings, refunds will not be processed. The statement advised individuals who believe they are entitled to a refund for an ATOL-protected booking to contact the CAA via email at claims@caa.co.uk.
Both One Hajj & Umrah and Oneworld Travels have received high praise in Google reviews, with customers commending their exceptional service and professional approach.
Several other UK-based travel companies have also shut down in the previous year, including Ickenham Travel Group Ltd, Great Little Escapes LLP, and Jetline Travel Ltd, as reported on the CAA website.
