Donald Trump announced that the United States has successfully targeted all military sites on an Iranian island in what he described as one of the most potent bombing campaigns in Middle Eastern history. The US President revealed this operation via his Truth Social platform on Friday evening, emphasizing the destruction of what he referred to as Iran’s prized possession.
In his statement, Trump mentioned that out of respect, the US opted not to strike the island’s oil facilities. Kharg, a small Iranian island located in the northern Persian Gulf, acts as the primary terminal for the nation’s oil exports.
Prior to this event, Kharg had not experienced any attacks from the US or Israeli forces. Trump’s directive led to the obliteration of military targets on the island, excluding the oil infrastructure as a gesture of decency.
Trump reaffirmed the strength of the US military, highlighting its capabilities and warning Iran against disrupting the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized the US’s military superiority and its readiness to counter any threats posed by Iran.
During a Fox News interview, Trump downplayed the significance of capturing Kharg island, dismissing the notion as irrelevant and refusing to disclose any strategic details. The interview took place on Thursday evening.
The President’s remarks underscored his administration’s commitment to preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and ensuring the security of the United States, the Middle East, and the global community.
