“Trump Criticizes Epstein Files Release, Defends Bill Clinton”

Date:

US President Donald Trump criticized the recent release of Jeffrey Epstein files as “a terrible thing.” Defending Bill Clinton and other political figures featured in the photos, Trump stated that many celebrities, including Michael Jackson, Mr. Clinton, Sir Mick Jagger, and Lord Mandelson, were innocently captured in the thousands of images now available online.

Despite being mentioned in the files himself, Trump argued that most of the individuals had met Epstein innocently over the years, despite Epstein being a convicted child sex offender who preyed on girls as young as 14.

In response to the release, Trump, 79, expressed his disapproval, suggesting that the situation was an attempt to divert attention from the success of the Republican Party. He also praised his relationship with Bill Clinton, emphasizing that Clinton could handle any allegations, as many people had crossed paths with Epstein in the past.

Reports from the Daily Mail indicated that Trump primarily blamed Congressional Democrats for pushing for the file release, acknowledging Epstein’s extensive connections in the 1990s and 2000s.

Following the statement by US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche about protecting Epstein’s victims, a data dump was initiated, with hundreds of thousands of documents set to be released in the upcoming weeks.

The US Department of Justice was mandated to disclose all files related to the Epstein investigation by midnight on Friday under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender, was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell in August 2019 while facing sex trafficking charges, with his death ruled as a suicide.

An investigation revealed that the guards assigned to monitor Epstein had fallen asleep on duty and falsified records, compounded by malfunctioning or broken cameras in the vicinity.
