US President Donald Trump has stated that he continues to take aspirin as a precautionary measure despite being deemed healthy by his doctors. Trump mentioned that he developed a bruise on his hand from accidentally hitting it on a table, which he attributes to his aspirin intake.
Aspirin is known to thin the blood, making bruising and bleeding more likely by preventing blood platelets from clotting effectively. When asked about the bruise on his hand, Trump explained that he had applied cream to it after the incident, jokingly adding that aspirin is good for the heart but may lead to bruising.
Trump emphasized that he opts for a higher dosage of aspirin despite medical advice suggesting he doesn’t need it due to his good health. The president stated that he prefers not to take any chances, citing bruising as a known side effect of aspirin usage.
Trump’s health status has been a topic of public interest, with past instances of visible bruising on his hands being attributed to extensive handshaking by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
