Donald Trump addressed health concerns by disclosing that he underwent a ‘perfect’ MRI scan during a recent visit to the hospital. The 79-year-old made this revelation to journalists on Air Force One, mentioning that he had the scan at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, a facility commonly chosen by US presidents for medical examinations and treatments.
Trump, who will be the oldest president in US history if he completes his term, has faced growing speculation in recent months following observations of unexplained bruises on his hand. In July, the White House confirmed that Trump was evaluated for leg swelling and received a diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency.
During the press briefing on Air Force One, Trump confirmed his hospital visit, stating, “I did. I got an MRI. It was perfect.” He further added that his doctors provided comprehensive reports and praised his health, claiming to have received exceptional evaluations for his age.
In an official statement after the checkup, President Trump’s physician, Capt Sean Barbarella, noted that Trump’s cardiac age was estimated to be 14 years younger than his actual age. The comprehensive assessments included advanced imaging, laboratory tests, and preventive health evaluations, which all reportedly showed stable health indicators.
Following his hospital visit, Trump arrived in Japan on Air Force One for a two-day visit, where he is scheduled to meet Japan’s new Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. He also met with Emperor Naruhito at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, emphasizing the positive relationship between the two nations.
Tokyo welcomed Trump by illuminating its landmarks in the colors of the American flag, symbolizing the strong ties between Japan and the United States.
