Donald Trump is scheduled to meet separately with Volodymyr Zelensky and Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House today. This comes shortly after Zelensky accused Russia of aiding Iran in targeting US troops.
The Ukrainian president and Israeli prime minister are both in Washington DC to pay their respects at Senator Lindsey Graham’s funeral. Zelensky intends to discuss bolstering Ukraine’s anti-ballistic missile defenses with Trump. He revealed that Ukraine possesses intelligence suggesting Russia shared satellite images with Iran, facilitating Iran’s targeting of US military bases in the Middle East. Trump expressed his intention to investigate the claims and confront Putin about them.
Following his meeting with Zelensky, Trump will engage in discussions with Netanyahu, marking their first face-to-face encounter since the US-Israeli conflict with Iran commenced on February 28.
“Starting from July, we have observed active Russian satellite surveillance of Gulf states and US military installations in the region,” stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday. “These surveillance images subsequently find their way to Iran, showing a clear link between the Russian satellite imagery and Iranian military actions – both in prelude to attacks, during planning, and post-strike for assessment.”
