President Donald Trump has delivered a strong message to Iran, cautioning that his administration is closely monitoring the situation and has deployed a fleet to the Middle East in response to ongoing protests. Speaking from Air Force One after a forceful address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the US leader emphasized the scrutiny on Iran, highlighting the dispatch of military vessels to the region.
“We have a significant flotilla heading in that direction. We will observe the developments closely. We are sending a substantial force towards Iran. While I prefer a peaceful resolution, we are keeping a vigilant eye on them,” stated Trump.
The United States has mobilized US F-15 Strike Eagles from nearby Jordan as part of a broader military buildup, which includes the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group. This naval formation, equipped with F-35 stealth fighters and destroyers, is advancing towards Iran from the South China Sea.
Trump suggested the possibility of potential strikes on Tehran, but expressed hope that such actions might be unnecessary. He also claimed personal credit for persuading Tehran to annul the scheduled executions of 837 protesters, emphasizing the archaic nature of Iran’s methods.
The President remarked, “I averted 837 hangings on Thursday; those individuals would have perished. Their archaic practices belong to a bygone era. I warned that any such executions would result in severe consequences, surpassing the repercussions of the Iran nuclear deal termination.”
Amid escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf and a significant US military presence in the region, Trump hinted at forthcoming actions. He highlighted the indiscriminate violence in Iranian streets and mentioned the addition of 25 more B-2 bombers for potential operations, praising their stealth capabilities and precision in past missions.
Last year, Trump authorized the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities utilizing these bombers, which reportedly severely damaged Iran’s nuclear program. The President reiterated the effectiveness of these strikes, emphasizing their precision and impact on the targeted sites.
