Putin declared that Russia now possesses the most advanced nuclear capabilities globally after a successful secret test flight of the Burevestnik missile, which boasts an infinite range. In response, Trump expressed frustration over the prolonged conflict in Ukraine, urging Putin to focus on resolving it rather than conducting missile tests. Trump also emphasized the presence of a top-tier nuclear submarine near Russia’s coast as a deterrent.
Putin’s remarks about the nuclear-powered missile during a military command post visit prompted Trump to hint at imposing additional sanctions on Russia. The Burevestnik missile, nicknamed “Flying Chernobyl,” was tested on October 21, covering an impressive distance while being nuclear-powered.
