Donald Trump has posted a video showcasing the grand reception he was given upon his arrival in China.
The US President is currently in Beijing for a highly anticipated meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. This visit coincides with a decline in Trump’s domestic popularity due to the ongoing US and Israeli conflict with Iran, where a ceasefire is hanging in the balance, and the resulting energy crisis.
Trump’s primary focus during this visit is to finalize deals with China for increased purchases of American agricultural products and aircraft. He has emphasized that trade discussions will take precedence during his talks with Xi, scheduled for the following day.
In the video shared on Truth Social, Trump can be seen disembarking from Air Force One onto a red carpet, greeted by a crowd waving flags of both the People’s Republic of China and the United States. Accompanying the President are Eric and Lara Trump, Elon Musk, Marco Rubio, and Pete Hegseth.
The footage shared by Trump on Truth Social followed a similar video released by Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, which quickly garnered over 66,600 likes and nearly 4,000 comments within a two-hour span.
