“Two Winners Claim £1 Million Each in Premium Bonds Draw”

Date:

The winners of the Premium Bonds for September 2025 were announced today, with two lucky individuals each receiving £1 million prizes. One winner from County Durham holds the maximum amount of £50,000 in Premium Bonds, with a winning bond number of 224BZ748917 purchased in June 2014. The second winner from Nottingham also holds £50,000 in Premium Bonds, with a winning bond number of 243VC581367 purchased in April 2015.

Premium Bonds, offered by National Savings & Investment (NS&I), provide a unique savings opportunity where instead of earning interest, bondholders are entered into a monthly prize draw. The prize amounts range from £25 to £1 million, with each £1 bond having odds of 22,000 to 1 of winning. The current prize fund rate is 3.60%.

Approximately 22.7 million people hold Premium Bonds, and if you win a prize, NS&I will notify you via email or text message. Winners can choose to have their prize money deposited into their bank account or reinvested in Premium Bonds. To check if you’ve won, you can use the NS&I online prize checker tool or the Premium Bonds prize checker app.

Despite a slight decrease in the prize fund rate, there are still two £1 million prizes awarded each month. Andrew Westhead, NS&I Retail Director, highlighted the security and flexibility of Premium Bonds, emphasizing the excitement of potentially winning a tax-free prize monthly.
