Eastern Airways, a UK domestic airline, has ceased operations and canceled all its flights. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed that the regional airline, which operated from six UK airports, is currently not operating any flights and advised customers against heading to the airport.
The airline served various destinations such as Aberdeen, Humberside, London Gatwick, Newquay, Teesside International, and Wick. This development follows the company’s filing of a notice of intent to appoint an administrator at the Insolvency and Companies Court on Monday.
Selina Chadha, the CAA’s consumer and markets director, cautioned passengers against going to the airport for Eastern Airways flights, as they have all been canceled. Affected customers are encouraged to make alternative travel arrangements through other airlines, trains, or coaches.
To assist impacted staff and customers, London North Eastern Railway, ScotRail, TransPennine Express, and Northern are providing complimentary standard-class travel on October 28 and 29. This offer is valid on specific routes operated by each train company, and passengers must present an Eastern Airways employee ID, boarding pass, or flight confirmation to access this benefit.
Established in 1997, Eastern Airways previously operated charter flights for sports teams, including Premier League and Championship clubs.
