Met Office alerts for snow and ice cover large parts of the country, with an amber warning in place for northern Scotland expecting further snow accumulation. Storm Goretti, identified by Meteo France, is expected to bring snow and strong winds starting Thursday. England and Wales might see up to eight more inches of snow, prompting warnings for Thursday and Friday.
Three weather scenarios are anticipated, with the first showing snow across Wales, northern England, the Midlands, and East Anglia, accompanied by strong winds along the south coast. The second scenario predicts disruptive snow in the far south of England and rain in coastal areas, while the rest of the UK may experience milder conditions. The least likely scenario forecasts significant snow in Northern Ireland, southern Scotland, northern England, the Midlands, and Wales, with disruptive wind mainly affecting Wales and the south of England.
