Some parts of the UK are in for pleasant beach weather this Easter, with temperatures reaching 19C, despite Storm Dave expected to bring harsh conditions to the northern regions. The storm will bring 90mph winds, heavy rain, and snow, prompting weather warnings for the north of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and parts of Wales over the next day.
Conversely, the southern regions can anticipate milder, overcast weather with occasional sunny intervals over the upcoming bank holiday weekend. British Weather Services’ senior meteorologist, Jim Dale, predicts that Easter Monday will be the highlight, with temperatures hitting around 18C in the south, making it the warmest and sunniest day of the weekend.
According to Dale, Monday will offer ideal conditions for outdoor activities, with mostly sunny and dry weather expected across the country. The forecast points to the south experiencing the best weather, with Monday shaping up to be a perfect day for the beach, countryside, or mountain outings. The temperature anomaly map suggests a contrast in temperatures on Easter Monday, with warmer conditions in England and Wales compared to cooler temperatures in Scotland and northern regions.
Before the arrival of Storm Dave, Dale emphasized that the severe weather will primarily affect the northern areas, particularly Scotland, with significant gales and precipitation. As the storm moves southwards, its intensity is expected to decrease, with the Midlands experiencing lower wind speeds compared to the north.
Dale highlighted the potential dangers of the storm for travelers and outdoor enthusiasts over the bank holiday period. Looking ahead, the Met Office forecasts a rise in temperatures to 21C in some areas by the middle of the following week, indicating warmer weather on the horizon.
