New weather forecasts reveal that the UK is set to face a cold spell later this month. The latest projections from WXCharts.com suggest temperatures could drop below freezing on April 25 and 26, particularly in the northern regions of the country.
Scotland and north west England are expected to bear the brunt of the cold snap, with temperatures potentially plummeting to -4C in cities like Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Dundee. Further south in England, areas including Newcastle, Blackpool, and Manchester may experience cold spells reaching -3C. Other regions in England, such as the Midlands and the North East, are also likely to see temperatures just below freezing, as reported by the Express.
The Met Office’s weather forecast for April 18 to April 27 indicates a mix of showers at the beginning of the period, mainly affecting the northwest, with some windy conditions. Despite this, the weekend is expected to be dry with sunny spells, albeit with cold nights. Later in the week, the possibility of rain is higher in western areas, while northern and eastern regions are likely to remain dry, with temperatures expected to stay above average.
The Express has listed the coldest places during the upcoming Arctic snap, including Dundee in Scotland and Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England. However, before the cold weather sets in, temperatures are forecasted to exceed 20C in parts of the country, like Canterbury, Kent, as warm air moves north from Europe.
