Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a stern warning to Russia about an upcoming 40-day “influence operation” designed to target Russian forces and assets, with the goal of pressuring President Vladimir Putin to end the ongoing conflict.
Recent reports indicate that Kyiv has intensified its military strikes inside Russia using advanced mid and long-range drones, resulting in significant damage to key infrastructure in Moscow. Two additional Russian oil facilities located in Ufa and the Krasnodar region were reportedly targeted in attacks on Wednesday night, further escalating tensions.
Zelensky announced his approval of a strategic plan for Ukraine’s security service to conduct a 40-day blitz against Russia, aiming to weaken their defenses and compel Putin to seek a resolution to the conflict. The President highlighted the success of Ukraine’s drone operations in defending the country and neutralizing Russian personnel and equipment in recent months.
The Ukrainian military’s targeted campaign against Russian military installations and energy sites has caused disruptions in fuel supply chains and logistical operations, hindering Moscow’s aggressive advances after years of conflict. Notably, drone attacks were reported in 12 regions across Russia, with significant strikes occurring in Crimea, the Azov Sea, and the Black Sea regions.
Zelensky revealed that Russia has bolstered its air defense systems in key locations, including the capital, Valdai, and the Kerch Bridge, a critical link between Crimea and mainland Russia. The President emphasized the deployment of hundreds of air defense missile launchers in the Moscow region, signaling Russia’s defensive preparations against Ukrainian drone capabilities.
Recent drone strikes by Ukrainian forces have targeted major Russian cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as strategic locations such as Crimea. Zelensky suggested that Ukraine’s enhanced drone capabilities, with a range exceeding 930 miles, could pose a significant threat to Russia, especially in regions where air defense coverage may be limited.
