“US and Israel Launch Coordinated Attack on Iran, Explosions Rock Tehran”

Date:

The United States and Israel carried out a coordinated attack on Iran, resulting in explosions that were observed and heard in various parts of Tehran and other locations in the country.

In a social media announcement earlier today, former US President Donald Trump stated that the Iranian operation, known as Operation Epic Fury, aimed to “destroy” Iranian forces. Trump emphasized that the US military was engaged in a significant and ongoing mission to safeguard America and its core national security interests from the perceived threats posed by Iran. He vowed to dismantle Iran’s navy, eliminate its missile program, and prevent the nation from obtaining nuclear weapons.

In response, Iran launched a counteroffensive by deploying missiles and drones targeting Israel and multiple military sites across the Middle East where US troops are stationed, as reported by the Mirror US.

Explosions were reported in Tehran around 9:30 a.m. GMT, with footage circulating on social media showing smoke rising in different parts of the city. The missile strikes allegedly hit key locations such as the Ministry of Intelligence, the Ministry of Defence, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, and the Parchin military facility. Additionally, missiles hit the Jomhouri district in Tehran, resulting in casualties, including the tragic loss of students in an attack on a school east of the capital.

In Minab County, local media confirmed that an Israeli strike targeted a girls’ school, leading to casualties. The Governor of Minab reported that 51 students were killed and 60 others were injured in the missile attack.

Various military installations in Kermanshah, Qom, Isfahan, Tabriz, and Karaj were also struck, along with Iranian naval facilities in Kenarak in the southern region, according to BBC reports.

Following the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran, explosions rocked cities across the Middle East. In retaliation, Iran announced that it was targeting American bases and interests in the region. Reports indicated blasts in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and a US naval base in Bahrain, among other locations. Iran’s actions were purportedly in response to attacks on multiple US military facilities in the Middle East.

Further reports revealed strikes hitting the US Fifth Fleet Naval Command in Bahrain and explosions in Doha, Qatar, where Iranian missiles were intercepted. The unrest extended to Jordan, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Dubai, with casualties reported and residents fleeing in fear. The UAE defense ministry confirmed a civilian fatality due to missile debris hitting a residential area in a “blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles.”
