“US Resident Wins Auction for House, Finds 3 Deceased Inside”

Date:

After making a risky purchase, US resident Edward Marchion found out that things aren’t always as they seem. Despite winning a bid for a spacious four-bedroom house on two acres of land in Connecticut, he was shocked to discover that the property was already inhabited – by three deceased individuals.

The Connecticut State Police revealed that the bodies found in the house were in a skeletal state. Two of the deceased have been identified as Sally Anne Cash, aged 54, and her son, Brian Cash, who would have turned 23 that month. The third body is undergoing DNA testing for identification purposes.

Sally Anne Cash and her husband, Paul Cash, who previously owned the residence, had stopped making mortgage payments in late 2024, leading to a foreclosure by the bank. The property was auctioned off sight unseen, a common practice in foreclosure sales.

Buyers participating in such auctions must proceed with caution as properties are typically sold without interior inspections or warranties. The Cashes did not respond to the foreclosure proceedings, eventually leading to a default judgment and foreclosure sale.

The lawyer overseeing the auction noted that the property appeared abandoned, with overgrown lawns indicating neglect. Mysterious signs reading “Keep out” and “private property” were found on the premises, possibly erected by the former residents. This situation prevented further investigation before the auction.

Despite the grim discovery, Marchion, who won the auction, has requested a delay in the property’s closing for the police investigation to conclude. The circumstances surrounding the deaths of the Cashes and the duration of their presence in the house remain unknown.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident as questions linger about the tragic events that unfolded in the once-desirable property.
