Virgin Media is introducing an exciting upgrade for its TV platform users with the addition of three new bonus channels. The telecoms giant has partnered with Rakuten to bring in a trio of Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels, enhancing the viewing experience at no extra cost.
The new channels include Rakuten TV Drama on Channel 462, offering popular movies like The Big Short, Gosford Park, and JFK. Viewers can enjoy a variety of content on Rakuten TV Comedy (Channel 463) such as Big Momma’s House, The Internship, and Bedazzled. For sci-fi enthusiasts, Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on Channel 464 will provide a collection of otherworldly content.
This entertainment upgrade will be automatically available on Virgin TV 360 and Flex, requiring no action from customers. The channels will be easily accessible through Virgin Media’s TV guide and voice control search functionality.
David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed excitement about the new streaming channels, stating that they offer unmissable entertainment and great Hollywood blockbusters at no additional cost. With this enhancement, Virgin TV customers now have access to a total of 40 FAST channels, enriching their viewing options.
While Virgin Media TV requires a subscription fee, the expanded channel lineup now offers a superior selection compared to free services.
