“Vodafone Dominates as Best 5G Network for Video Streaming”

Date:

The era of using our mobile phones solely for calls is a thing of the past. These pocket-sized devices now pack the power of a PC and offer a complete entertainment experience, including movie watching and streaming box sets. Notably, devices like Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold7 boast large displays that enhance the viewing experience.

For seamless streaming on-the-go, a high-speed mobile network is essential, and one provider stands out as a frontrunner in this area. Vodafone has emerged as the top performer in the most recent awards by Ookla’s speed-testing team. Despite fierce competition from EE, Three, and O2, Vodafone clinched the top position overall.

The study, which analyzed millions of download tests, revealed Vodafone’s dominance in various categories such as the overall Video Streaming Score, Acceptable Video Start Time, and streaming video in full HD resolution. Although it narrowly missed the mark in Uninterrupted Playback tests compared to Three and O2, Vodafone still excelled.

Ookla announced Vodafone as the “Best 5G Video Experience in the United Kingdom, Q1–Q2 2025.” The Speedtest Award for Mobile Video Experience, which considers several key performance indicators during high-resolution video playback, solidified Vodafone’s position as the leader.

Here are the detailed results:
– Video Streaming Score: Vodafone • 85.29, Three • 84.33, EE • 82.64, O2 • 81.67
– Uninterrupted Playback: Vodafone • 98.05, Three • 98.37, EE • 98.19, O2 • 98.15
– Acceptable Video Start Time: Vodafone • 65.01, Three • 62.61, EE • 60.96, O2 • 55.43
– Full HD Resolution: Vodafone • 92.32, Three • 91.99, O2 • 91.42, EE • 88.75

As more people engage in streaming movies, live sports, and binge-watching series, network performance becomes crucial to avoid buffering interruptions. Consider switching to 5G if your current signal struggles, as it offers faster speeds and better capacity to handle multiple connected devices simultaneously, making it ideal for crowded areas like stadiums and train stations.

Most new phones support 5G, and ensuring your SIM is 5G-enabled can optimize your internet speed. Embracing 5G technology not only boosts speed but also enhances connectivity in high-traffic environments.
