“Welsh Teen Sentenced for Terror Plot on Dance School & Oasis Concert”

Date:

An 18-year-old named McKenzie Morgan from Cwmbran, Wales, has been sentenced to 14 months in prison for planning a copycat attack on a children’s dance school in Southport and expressing intentions to bomb an Oasis concert. Morgan, who just turned 18, was found with a document outlining potential targets for terrorism, including the dance school and the Oasis gig in Cardiff.

During the trial at the Old Bailey, it was revealed that Morgan had discussed his plans on Snapchat, expressing admiration for a previous attacker and mentioning his attempts to create a dangerous toxin called ricin. He had also researched explosives and violent methods, indicating a disturbing interest in terrorist activities.

After being reported to the authorities by someone on Snapchat, Morgan was arrested at his home in Cwmbran, where electronic devices containing incriminating evidence were seized. Police discovered messages discussing potential attacks, attempts to acquire weapons, and detailed plans for targeting specific locations.

Despite initially claiming that his actions were meant to shock rather than harm, Morgan’s history of researching violent acts and expressing intentions to carry out attacks raised serious concerns about his mental state and potential danger to society. The judge highlighted the need to closely monitor Morgan upon his release to prevent further incidents and ensure public safety.
