A widespread search effort is underway in Germany following the abduction of a baby from his stroller overnight. Authorities are utilizing helicopters and drones in an attempt to locate the missing three-month-old infant, but as of now, no significant leads have emerged.
The child went missing around 11:30 pm after being briefly left unattended in Renningen, southwest Germany. The parents noticed the disappearance and promptly informed the police, suspecting that an unidentified individual removed the baby from the stroller.
A comprehensive search operation involving drones, helicopters, firefighters, and 40 rescue canines is currently in progress. Additionally, specialized cadaver dogs trained to detect decomposing bodies are aiding in the search efforts.
With temperatures exceeding 30C in Germany, officials expressed concerns about the infant’s well-being in the heat, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. Despite the ongoing search efforts, authorities have not yet identified any significant leads and are methodically expanding their search radius from the scene of the incident.
Reportedly, the alleged kidnapping occurred near the mother’s residence in Renningen, Baden-Württemberg. The mayor of Renningen, Melanie Hettmer, expressed deep worry and the hope for the safe return of the child.
Local residents who attempted to organize search parties on social media were cautioned against interfering with the official police investigation. Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters issued a statement on Facebook urging the public to refrain from conducting independent search operations.
