“Winter Returns: Britain Braces for April Snowfall”

Date:

According to weather forecasts, parts of Britain are expected to face snowfall and a drop in temperatures in the upcoming days. WXCharts maps, using data from MetDesk, indicate the possibility of snow approaching the country, with areas turning icy blue, hinting at cold weather conditions and potential snowfall with temperatures plunging as low as -4C.

Despite being in the middle of spring, Britons have been encountering lower temperatures than usual over the last two weeks. The Met Office has also warned of the likelihood of “unsettled conditions” making a comeback towards the end of the month.

April 25 is expected to feel more like a winter day, particularly in Scotland and northern England, with snowfall anticipated from midnight onwards. The WXCharts map illustrates a significant purple area over the Scottish Highlands, covering Aberdeen and the North East, with a band of snow extending from the Scottish borders to Stoke-on-Trent, albeit lighter in the Greater Manchester to Staffordshire regions.

Accompanying the snowfall, temperatures are predicted to dip below zero, with projections reaching as low as -3C in the Highlands and Perth and Cross, and -4C in North Yorkshire.

Minimal temperature fluctuations are expected throughout the day, ranging between -2C and 4C nationwide. The snowfall is anticipated to persist into the evening before easing up notably in the North of England, as reported by the Express.

The Met Office’s long-range forecast for April 21 to April 30 hints at the potential return of unsettled weather during that period. The forecast suggests a mix of dry weather, sunny spells, and scattered showers initially, with the possibility of colder conditions in some eastern areas and warmer weather in western regions. Unsettled weather is anticipated to make a return by the weekend, with varied scenarios possible, including wintry showers in specific coastal and mountainous areas.
