“Winter Wonderland Tragedy: Circus Worker’s Death Ruled Suicide”

Date:

A tragic incident unfolded at a Winter Wonderland ice rink as the lifeless body of Kyle Samuel, 29, was discovered in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Samuel, an employee of the attraction, was found at 9 am on November 11 and rushed to Royal Stoke University Hospital, where he passed away later that morning following an inquest.

The coroner, Daniel Howe, ruled it as a case of suicide, attributing Samuel’s death to hypoxia from hanging. Howe highlighted Samuel’s history of low spirits and discussions about self-harm, noting that the impending court appearance that day had added to his distress.

In a poignant statement, Samuel’s mother recalled their last conversation, where he seemed cheerful but later attempted to contact family and friends, indicating his intentions. She praised Samuel’s dedication to his career in the circus industry, where he hid his inner struggles behind a facade. Describing him as a beloved and gentle soul, she expressed deep sorrow over his loss.
