A young boy, aged seven, tragically passed away from cancer after initially complaining of stomach pain two years ago. Feliks Jama sought medical help in 2023 for his abdominal discomfort, leading to the discovery of an 8cm tumor on his kidney, as well as additional tumors in his lungs and abdomen. Despite undergoing treatments like radiotherapy and chemotherapy followed by surgical removal of the tumors, some grew back, necessitating further treatment in his hometown hospital in Dolsk, Poland.
After a brief unsuccessful stint at a clinic in Germany, the family returned to Poland, where Feliks ultimately succumbed to the disease on September 14. The Piece of Heaven Foundation, in an official statement, expressed deep sorrow over Feliks’ passing, acknowledging his valiant battle against the illness and seeking support through prayers for the grieving parents.
Earlier this year, the foundation initiated an online fundraising campaign to aid Feliks’ family in covering medical expenses overseas, rehabilitation, and consultations, garnering significant support from 11,330 donors and raising over £220,000. The family’s heartfelt plea on the crowdfunding page detailed their anguish over the recurrence of the tumor despite previous treatment success and the emotional turmoil they endured upon learning of Feliks’ diagnosis.
The devastating journey of Feliks and his family serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by those battling cancer and the unwavering strength and resilience shown in the face of adversity.
