“£1 Million Premium Bonds Jackpots Won in Liverpool and Norfolk”

Date:

Two individuals holding Premium Bonds, one from Liverpool and the other from Norfolk, have each won a significant prize of £1 million. The National Savings & Investments (NS&I) announced that the winning number for the first £1 million prize is 496VT504601, purchased in April 2022 by the Liverpool winner, marking the fifth jackpot winner from the area. The second £1 million prize, with the number 282NN327573, was won by a Norfolk resident who bought the winning bond in September 2016, becoming the third £1 million jackpot winner from Norfolk.

Andrew Westhead, NS&I Retail Director, expressed joy for the two lucky winners from Liverpool and Norfolk, highlighting that this March has brought them both a springtime windfall of £1 million each. This month’s Premium Bonds prize draw has awarded over £410 million in tax-free prizes to more than six million winners. To check if you have won a prize, you can use the NS&I prize checker app starting from Tuesday, March 3.

The total payout for this month’s draw is £410,607,175, distributed among 6,221,321 winners in tax-free prizes. Since the inaugural draw in June 1957, the total prize value has exceeded £40.3 billion, with a total of 821 million prizes awarded. Besides the two £1 million winners, there are 78 winners of £100,000, 156 winners of £50,000, 313 winners of £25,000, and 782 winners of £10,000. Additionally, approximately 2.7 million Bond holders received £25 each in this month’s draw.

Premium Bonds were first introduced for sale in November 1956, with the first prize draw taking place in June 1957. Individuals can hold up to £50,000 in Premium Bonds, which are backed by the UK Treasury and offer the chance to win tax-free prizes. Newly purchased Premium Bonds must be held for one full calendar month before being eligible for the prize draw.

The winning Bond numbers for the £1 million jackpot prize winners are announced on the first working day of each month and winners are contacted directly by Agent Million. Bond holders can check their prizes ranging from £25 to £100,000 the day after the first working day of each month using the Premium Bonds prize checker app, the NS&I website, or by asking Alexa, with the next check available on Tuesday, March 3.

To check prizes on the NS&I website, Bond holders need their Premium Bonds holder’s number. For users of the Premium Bonds app, they can use either their holder’s number or their NS&I number.
