“21-Year-Old Arrested for Attempted Murder in Northumberland”

A young man, aged 21, has been apprehended under suspicion of attempted murder following an incident where a vehicle veered off course onto a sidewalk in Northumberland, striking a pedestrian multiple times.

Law enforcement officers were alerted to a severe assault on Upper Barresdale in Alnwick around 6:40 pm last Friday. Reports indicated that a black Audi A3 swerved off the road and deliberately targeted a pedestrian before fleeing the scene. The victim, a man in his thirties, sustained serious leg injuries and was promptly transported to the hospital, where he remains under care.

Authorities from Northumbria Police initiated an inquiry and arrested the 21-year-old suspect on charges of attempted murder. The individual is currently in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Adele Catlow expressed, “This incident is extremely grave, resulting in severe injuries to the victim. While the investigation is in its early stages, we suspect that the parties involved are acquainted with each other.”

Catlow added, “We have made an arrest and our officers will persist in conducting investigations in the vicinity to provide assurance to the community. We urge any witnesses or individuals present in the area at the time to come forward.”
