When questioned about the types and quantity of jobs that may be affected, Kendall acknowledged the mixed evidence, citing concerns about certain sectors like law and finance while also noting the emergence of new job opportunities.
Kendall highlighted the government’s initiative to offer free AI skills courses to all adults in the UK. Additionally, she announced the establishment of a Future of Work unit within the Department of Science, Innovation, and Technology, in collaboration with industry bodies to analyze the impact of AI on employment and provide practical assistance.
Furthermore, Kendall expressed ambitions for Britain to lead in AI adoption among the G7 nations, underscoring the importance of proactive measures to navigate the evolving job landscape effectively.
