A British tourist named Joshua Kershaw collapsed at a bar in Bangkok and received medical care before venturing into the city’s bustling nightlife area. The 21-year-old was spotted on CCTV in the heart of Bangkok’s nightlife district shortly before he was found deceased in his hotel room on January 13. Initially, his family from Yorkshire thought he was in Pattaya, a destination he intended to visit.
Joshua, hailing from Grimsby, Lincolnshire, had checked into Maxim’s Inn hotel in Bangkok on the evening of January 12 before his planned trip to Pattaya. Hotel staff discovered his body the following day, prompting a police response. Authorities in Bangkok are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of Joshua’s untimely death.
On the night of January 12, security footage showed Joshua at a bar near his hotel seated with a woman, enjoying pizza and chicken. Witnesses mentioned that Joshua suddenly fell from his chair, lost consciousness, and was subsequently taken to the hospital by ambulance due to a suspected food-related incident. Despite receiving treatment and discharging himself from the hospital, Joshua was later found lifeless in his hotel room.
His family was informed of his passing nine days later. A spokesperson from the Foreign Office expressed condolences and confirmed assistance to Joshua’s family. His mother, Jenny, based in Wakefield, shared the heartbreaking news on social media. A fundraising campaign has been initiated to repatriate Joshua’s remains, garnering significant support.
