“Seasick Confession Leads to Unforgettable Cruise Adventure”

Date:

Embarking on our first cruise adventure, my friend Paul’s confession about getting seasick on rowing boats was a daunting revelation. Despite his apprehensions, we set sail on P&O’s Azura from the Port of Santa Cruz, Tenerife, eager to explore the Canary Islands and Madeira.

Our journey began with a captivating visit to Mount Teide in Tenerife, where we experienced a striking contrast between winter landscapes and warm sunshine. Ascending the 3,715-meter volcano via a thrilling cable car ride, we found ourselves amidst pristine snow, a stark departure from the volcanic terrain below.

Each port we visited offered unique excursions, showcasing diverse landscapes and experiences. From the lunar-like Timanfaya National Park in Lanzarote to a volcanic walking tour in Gran Canaria, we were immersed in awe-inspiring natural beauty and cultural delights.

Balancing destination days with leisurely sea days onboard the Azura, we indulged in the ship’s myriad amenities. With over 1500 cabins spread across 14 decks, including pools, a gym, spa, casino, and various dining options, there was no shortage of relaxation and entertainment opportunities.

The ship’s culinary offerings were a highlight, with upscale dining venues like Epicurean, Sindhu, and The Oriental providing exquisite meals in a luxurious setting. The diverse dining options, coupled with the ship’s activities and excursions, catered to every taste and budget, making us newfound cruise enthusiasts.

Whether unwinding by the pool, savoring fine dining experiences, or partaking in onboard entertainment, the cruise offered a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure for travelers of all preferences. The versatility and quality of the experience left us eager to plan our next cruise sooner rather than later.

For those interested, the Spain, Portugal & Canary Islands cruise (N617) starts from £1,299 per person, sailing on a 14-night voyage from Southampton on 18 July aboard Ventura. Bookings can be made on pocruises.com.
