Scottish actor and television host Alan Cumming, known for his role as the BAFTAs 2026 host, has voiced concerns about potential deportation from the United States due to his outspoken views. Alan, who divides his time between the USA and Scotland, expressed unease about his situation in New York following a discussion on transgender rights on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
After his appearance, Alan was warned by those around him that his vocal stance on the issue could lead to deportation. Deportations have been a significant issue in the USA as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities intensify, with reports of detention conditions surfacing.
Reflecting on his status as an immigrant in the USA, Alan, who became a US citizen in 2008, described the raids as “terrifying” and acknowledged his gratitude for having Scotland as a refuge. Despite living a seemingly ordinary life in New York, Alan expressed fear over ICE operations in close proximity.
Besides his immigration concerns, Alan, who hosts the US version of The Traitors, has also shared his aspirations for a better work-life balance. During a Q&A session in Scotland, he mentioned his plan to reduce his workload and focus on personal interests, including renovating a house near Inverness.
