TikTok Influencer Avoids Full Repayment for Chartered Flight

Date:

A judge has ruled that a TikTok influencer brought back to the UK from Spain in a chartered private plane will not have to repay the full costs of the trip. Harrison Sullivan, known as HSTikkyTokky on TikTok, avoided court for almost a year after crashing his £230,000 McLaren supercar in Surrey in March 2024.

Sullivan failed to appear in court for 12 months after the crash, instead traveling to Dubai, Thailand, and Spain while creating social media content. He was detained in Spain for unrelated matters in August last year, and Surrey Police spent approximately £15,000 on a chartered flight to repatriate him to the UK.

The total expenses incurred by Surrey Police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to bring Sullivan back to the UK amounted to £28,350.27. However, District Judge Julie Cooper decided not to compel Sullivan to reimburse the entire flight costs, deeming the use of a private jet as “unnecessary or disproportionate.”

The judge’s decision followed a risk assessment conducted by the National Extradition Unit (NEU), with undisclosed details. Despite arguments by Prosecution Kane Alexander about concerns regarding Sullivan being recognized on a commercial flight due to his status as a fitness influencer, Judge Cooper found the chartered flight unnecessary.

Sullivan was ordered to pay £9,270 in prosecution costs and £8,050.27 in police costs, totaling £17,320.27. His defense solicitor, Shalin Sood, stated that Sullivan’s income, estimated at £2,000 a week, was inconsistent and that he would not be able to make the payment promptly.

Judge Cooper expressed skepticism about Sullivan’s financial situation, pointing out his properties in the United Arab Emirates. She granted him a six-month period to settle the payment, with a requirement for him to justify any delays.

In a previous court appearance, Sullivan received a one-year suspended custodial sentence for dangerous driving and driving without insurance, leading to his disqualification from driving for two years. He was also mandated to wear an electronic tag for three months, perform 300 hours of unpaid work, and undergo 30 days of rehabilitation. Witnesses had reported seeing Sullivan speeding in his supercar before the crash, which occurred at 71mph in a 40mph zone, as per data from the crashed McLaren.

Sullivan is expected to be featured in a Netflix documentary with Louis Theroux exploring the impact of online misogyny on young males. The documentary includes a viral clip where Theroux quotes Sullivan’s controversial remarks, to which Sullivan responded defiantly.
