Two individuals have lost their lives, and another person has been hospitalized with severe injuries after a tragic collision. Humberside Police reported that the incident occurred around 9:55 pm on Sunday, January 18, on a section of the A614 in the Holme-on-Spalding-Moor area of East Riding. The victims, aged 27 and 55, succumbed to their injuries at the crash site.
Following the accident, the road was shut down overnight and was reopened around 8:45 am the next day. Authorities are now appealing for witnesses and individuals with dashcam footage to come forward.
The collision involved a blue Land Rover heading north on the A614 from Howden toward Spalding Moor and a white Ford Transit van traveling in the opposite direction near Holme Road outside Chestnut Farm. The occupants of the Land Rover, aged 55 and 27, were pronounced dead at the scene, while the van driver, aged 31, was transported to the hospital with significant injuries.
A police spokesperson stated, “We are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision near Holme Road in Holme on Spalding Moor that occurred around 9:55 pm on Sunday, January 18, 2026. A blue Land Rover was traveling northbound on the A614 from Howden towards Holme on Spalding Moor when it collided with a white Ford Transit Van near Holme Road outside Chestnut Farm.”
Emergency services responded to the scene promptly, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact the authorities on the non-emergency number 101, quoting log 436 of January 18.
