A courageous mother has made an emotional plea for donations to bring her son back home following a severe accident.
Tiger Duggan, aged 23, remains in critical condition at a hospital in Thailand after being struck by a vehicle while riding his motorcycle last week. His mother, Lisa, alongside his aunt Lena, is seeking financial assistance to repatriate Tiger to the UK.
Initially presumed deceased, Tiger was revived at the crash site and then transferred to a hospital on Koh Samui island before being airlifted to a facility in Bangkok. The family is hopeful that Tiger will stabilize soon and be eligible for transportation back to the UK.
In a heartfelt video message, Lisa implored for help, emphasizing the importance of every contribution toward bringing her son home. The fundraising initiative, started by Lisa and her coworkers at Milton Keynes University Hospital, has already amassed an impressive £150,000 and aims to reach a target of £200,000.
The fundraising page details the estimated £150,000 required for Tiger’s air transfer to the UK for specialized medical care, stressing the urgency of the situation due to ongoing medical expenses in Thailand. Despite having medical insurance, the family has encountered delays in obtaining financial support, which could take weeks to process.
A spokesperson emphasized the critical need for immediate action, stating that delays could jeopardize Tiger’s chances of survival. Local MP Emily Darlington expressed deep concern over the accident, highlighting the community’s solidarity in hoping for Tiger’s recovery.
Tiger’s father, Kieran, and younger brother, River, are en route to Bangkok to reunite with Lisa and Lena. Lisa disclosed that River, who admires his older brother, has been profoundly impacted by the incident.
In a touching moment captured on video, Lisa conveyed her unwavering support to Tiger, urging for assistance in his time of need.
