A newly married couple narrowly escaped a tragic accident that claimed the lives of four individuals after the taxi they were in collided with a Seat Leon in a devastating crash in Bolton, Greater Manchester. Georgina and Tom Daniels expressed disbelief at surviving the incident that occurred on a street in Bolton on Sunday, January 11.
The taxi driver, Masrob Ali, and three young men traveling in the Seat Leon, Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, Farhan Patel, and Mohammed Danyaal, tragically lost their lives in the collision. Despite sustaining life-altering injuries, Mr. and Mrs. Daniels managed to survive the crash.
Mrs. Daniels, a 28-year-old NHS manager, shared from her hospital bed her astonishment at being alive, considering the severity of the crash and the injuries they sustained. The couple, along with their friends, had to be rescued from the mangled wreckage of the Citroen following the head-on crash on a road with a history of serious accidents.
The Daniels now face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives separately after marrying just last year. Mrs. Daniels lamented the challenges they will have to overcome and emphasized the cruelty of having to navigate their recovery apart.
In response to the crash, Mrs. Daniels issued a cautionary message to reckless drivers seeking attention and status, referencing a video showing a vehicle speeding at 122mph in the same area the night before the accident. Greater Manchester Police are incorporating the footage into their investigation.
The tragic turn of events occurred during a night out in Bolton, meant to be a farewell celebration for friends embarking on a journey to Australia. The couple’s close friend initiated an online GoFundMe appeal to support the financial needs of Mr. and Mrs. Daniels and their friends during their recovery period.
