Meeks, who faced charges of robbery and assault at 18, eventually served nine years in prison despite receiving a two-year sentence as part of a plea deal.
In 2014, Meeks faced additional charges for firearm possession and resisting arrest, leading to a two-year jail term before his release in 2016. This arrest catapulted him to fame after the police shared his mugshot on Facebook, earning him the title of “world’s hottest felon.”
Following his release, Jeremy transitioned into a successful career as a fashion model, which he continues to pursue at the age of 42. He has demonstrated a transformation, authoring a memoir titled “Model Citizen: The Autobiography of Jeremy Meeks” and engaging in charitable endeavors to steer youth away from criminal activities.
During a recent interview on the Inside True Crime podcast, Jeremy revealed the overwhelming response he received after his mugshot went viral, receiving hundreds of letters daily from around the globe. Despite the initial positive attention, Meeks faced challenges, including alleged mistreatment by correctional officers post-fame, leading to confrontations in courtrooms.
Meeks expressed frustration over unwanted visitors during his incarceration, which hindered his precious family time. Despite these challenges, he stated that he did not encounter issues with fellow inmates during his time behind bars.
