A man and a woman have been sentenced to prison after numerous neglected animals, including 52 dogs, were discovered in deplorable conditions. Zoe Louise Graham received an 18-month jail term and a 15-year ban on owning animals, while Lee Lock, also convicted at Swansea Crown Court, was imprisoned for 27 months and prohibited from keeping animals until 2050.
In December 2024, authorities, along with the RSPCA and veterinarians, visited the property where they found 29 dogs, 17 snakes, a Hermanns tortoise, a leopard gecko, and a monitor lizard living in appalling conditions. They also uncovered two deceased dogs and one dead snake.
RSPCA Inspector Keith Hogben described encountering a strong odor of dog waste and urine upon entering the property, where he was met by several French Bulldog-type dogs. Inside, he observed adult French Bulldog-type dogs, young puppies, and unsanitary conditions with soiled cages, moldy food, and rubbish littering the rooms.
Graham and Lock admitted to multiple offenses under the Animal Welfare Act in court on October 3, 2025. These offenses included neglecting several animals, causing suffering to French Bulldogs, and failing to provide necessary care and veterinary treatment.
Inspector Hogben noted the poor conditions in the property, including filthy vivariums housing snakes, a tortoise, a gecko, and a monitor lizard without proper care or enrichment.
