Tiger Woods Arrested for DUI: Hydrocodone Pills Found

Date:

Tiger Woods was found in possession of two loose hydrocodone pills during his arrest for driving under the influence on March 27th, according to a police report. The report states that the 50-year-old mentioned he was distracted by his phone and adjusting the radio just before the accident, as reported by TMZ.

After the crash, where his Range Rover SUV overturned upon hitting a trailer being towed by a truck, Woods was reportedly sweating heavily. Responders noted that he appeared sluggish and displayed multiple signs of impairment, including bloodshot and glassy eyes with dilated pupils.

During questioning at the scene, Woods admitted to taking some prescription medication earlier that day but denied consuming any illicit substances or alcohol. Despite agreeing to field sobriety and breathalyzer tests, he declined to provide a urine sample.

Consequently, Woods faced charges of DUI, property damage, and refusal to undergo a lawful test, all classified as misdemeanors. Following his arrest, he spent eight hours in Martin County Jail in accordance with Florida state law and is scheduled to appear in court in April.

Sheriff John Budensiek of Martin County addressed the media outside the Jupiter Island Police Department, detailing the circumstances of the rollover crash involving Woods. He mentioned that Woods, who crawled out of the vehicle through the passenger door, showed signs of impairment during tests conducted by DUI investigators.

Despite blowing zeros on the breathalyzer test, Woods refused the urinalysis request. No injuries were reported from the accident, and both Woods and the other individual involved were unharmed. Budensiek emphasized that alcohol was not suspected to be a factor in the incident.
