“Spanish Couple Advocate for Incestuous Marriage Rights”

Date:

Ana Parra met her half brother, Daniel Parra, for the first time at the age of 20, and they immediately felt a strong connection. The Spanish couple, who now have two children, are advocating for a change in the law to allow them to marry legally.

Ana had always been aware of having a half brother due to her father abandoning her for another woman with whom he had children. Daniel, one of those children, was never informed by his father about the possibility of having a sister until someone mentioned it to him.

Curious to meet her sibling, Ana reached out to Daniel through Facebook, leading to their first meeting, which they describe as love at first sight. Despite the societal taboo of their relationship as siblings, they eventually acknowledged their romantic feelings for each other.

Their relationship faced backlash online, with people condemning their incestuous union. Despite the risks associated with genetic relations, such as a higher chance of inherited diseases, their children are reported to be healthy.

Although consensual incest is legal in Spain, marriage between relatives is prohibited by the Spanish Civil Code. Daniel and Ana are determined to challenge this restriction and aspire to be able to marry one day.

Ana emphasized the importance of societal progress and acceptance of unconventional relationships, drawing parallels to the acceptance of same-sex marriages. They advocate for their love to be recognized and understood without causing harm to anyone.
