Witnesses recount a scene of carnage as a man was viciously attacked with an axe in Bootle, resulting in a pool of blood at the crime scene.
Bootle Strand shopping center in Liverpool is now under heavy police presence, with significant sections cordoned off by Merseyside Police on Stanley Road, encompassing various shops and dining establishments.
A McDonald’s staff member described the harrowing incident, stating, “We witnessed a brutal axe attack resulting in severe bleeding. Paramedics swiftly arrived to attend to the injured individual. The incident occurred approximately an hour ago near a frequently populated bench.”
Forensic experts were observed documenting the crime scene near Burger King, focusing on a blood-stained bench. Additionally, they retrieved personal items from the area for further examination.
An eyewitness working in a nearby store recounted the aftermath, saying, “Upon entering the store, a bloodied individual appeared to have suffered a brutal axe blow to the face. The police suspect the attack originated elsewhere on Stanley Road, with the victim seeking refuge near Burger King, where emergency services intervened.”
Another witness from KFC mentioned, “Although I didn’t witness the incident directly, the arrival of emergency services with flashing lights indicated a serious event. Reports circulating among patrons suggested an axe assault had taken place.”
Merseyside Police confirmed the assault, detailing the victim’s injuries caused by a bladed weapon. Detective Inspector Sara Lang urged the public to assist in the investigation, emphasizing the importance of any information that could aid in identifying the perpetrators.
