Donald Trump has once again taken to his Truth Social platform, reiterating his threats to potentially invade Greenland. In a series of posts on the platform he owns, the former US president criticized US TV channels for spreading what he referred to as “fake news.” Trump expressed his discontent with individuals not involved in US-Iran negotiations who are disseminating false information, vowing that they will be exposed after a federal investigation.
He emphasized that the United States has specific points that are deemed acceptable and will be discussed privately during negotiations. Trump likened the situation to what he termed as misleading reporting by CNN. Additionally, he chastised NATO allies for not joining in military actions against Iran and once again raised the specter of a potential invasion of Greenland.
Turning his focus back to Iran negotiations, Trump denounced reports by certain media outlets that purportedly misrepresented the content of the discussions as a fabricated hoax. In a final post, Trump issued a stern warning to Iran, asserting that US military presence in the region would continue until a genuine agreement is adhered to, emphasizing the readiness of the military to act decisively if necessary.
Calls for invoking the 25th Amendment or commencing impeachment proceedings against Trump have escalated, with over 70 Democratic lawmakers citing concerns about his stability and the perceived threat he poses. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Leader Chuck Schumer have urged Congress to reconvene promptly to pass a resolution aimed at halting what they describe as a “reckless war of choice.”
