Jamie Raskin, a prominent Democrat in the House Judiciary Committee, engaged in a heated exchange with Farage during a visit to the UK last summer and later criticized him during a committee hearing in Washington on matters concerning “free speech.”
In an interview with the Mirror at his Congressional Office in Washington DC, Rep. Raskin advised British voters to be cautious of Farage, describing him as lacking genuine commitment to free speech and being solely focused on promoting right-wing ideologies.
Expressing his concern about the possibility of the UK following a similar path as Trump’s America, Raskin emphasized his admiration for British cultural icons like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, suggesting that a society known for producing exceptional literary and musical talents should not be swayed by a political figure like Farage.
Highlighting his admiration for the UK’s contributions to global culture, Raskin expressed confidence that British citizens would not be misled by individuals like Farage or consider Donald Trump as a role model.
