A mother reportedly killed her former spouse, aged 38, in a brutal acid assault following orders from his employer to settle his £120,000 drug debt, as revealed in court proceedings.
During the early morning of February 21 the previous year, two individuals invaded the residence of Danny Cahalane, a father of two in Devon’s city of Plymouth. The assailants doused Danny with sulfuric acid, causing severe chemical burns.
Although Danny initially survived the assault, he succumbed to his grave injuries ten weeks later on May 3, 2025. His ex-wife, Paris Wilson, 35, is currently on trial alongside nine others, including co-defendant Jenna Said, 39, in connection with the incident.
Court testimonies unveiled that before his demise, Danny held a managerial position in a significant drug trafficking network and owed a substantial sum of £120,000 to Ryan Kennedy, also known as Frost.
According to prosecutor Joanne Martin KC, Danny admitted to misusing the proceeds from his illicit activities, resulting in massive debts to Frost. Despite attempts to negotiate a repayment plan, the situation remained unresolved.
In the weeks leading up to the attack, Kennedy allegedly sent threatening messages to Danny, warning him of the consequences for his actions. Kennedy even orchestrated an unsuccessful kidnapping plot against Danny on January 19, 2025, before escalating to the acid attack.
Describing the incident as a premeditated murder, Martin emphasized the malicious intent behind the assault, aimed at causing severe harm to Mr. Cahalane.
The ongoing trial involves ten defendants, all of whom have pleaded not guilty to the charges. Legal proceedings are set to continue as the case unfolds.
