An attendee at the Coachella festival experienced a frightening incident resulting in a head injury. The festival participant was hurt when a heavy light fixture accidentally fell on them.
The mishap occurred during a surprise set by DJ and producer John Summit at the Do LaB stage on Friday. The incident caused one audience member to suffer a facial injury as the light fixture dropped into the crowd midway through the performance.
According to an eyewitness, the unfortunate attendee was visibly distressed by the accident, which caused a significant wound on her head. Joey Freshour, who witnessed the incident, described the scene on Instagram, mentioning that the girl was hit directly on the head by the falling structure.
In a video capturing the aftermath, the fallen light fixture could be seen on the ground. Witnesses attempted to alert medical personnel, and three individuals assisted in moving the injured woman to a nearby medical tent for treatment.
Although some attributed the incident to strong winds, DJ Summit was reportedly unaware of the situation. The adverse weather conditions were also cited as the reason for Justin Bieber’s delayed appearance on stage the following night.
