Former President Donald Trump recently criticized musician Bruce Springsteen, likening him to a “wrinkled old prune” amidst ongoing political statements during his concert tour.
Known as an iconic figure in American culture, Springsteen has been incorporating political messages into his performances across the United States.
During the kickoff concert in Minneapolis, Springsteen started with a tribute to military personnel serving overseas, followed by a rendition of Edwin Starr’s anti-Vietnam War song “War.”
In a three-hour show, Springsteen expressed concern about the current state of affairs, criticizing the Trump administration as “corrupt” and asserting that the President “cannot handle the truth.”
Responding to the remarks, Trump, who is older than Springsteen, took to Truth Social to urge his supporters to boycott the musician’s sold-out tour, describing Springsteen as a “bad” and “boring” singer with alleged Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Springsteen has been consistently critical of Trump, often referencing specific incidents to highlight his disapproval, as was evident during the recent concert in Minnesota.
At the event, Springsteen emphasized the challenges to American values, citing issues such as military conflicts, immigration policies, and alleged corruption within government institutions.
He also raised concerns about the neglect of humanitarian efforts, international alliances, and historical accuracy in education, urging for a return to fundamental principles of honesty, honor, and decency.
