Prince Harry Urges Aid Corridors for Gaza

Prince Harry recently made a heartfelt plea for the urgent opening of food and medical aid corridors to assist the people in Gaza during a television interview conducted while on a visit to Jordan. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex journeyed to the Middle East at the invitation of Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesu, the director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Their trip aimed to deepen their understanding of the extensive humanitarian work supporting the health and well-being of Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Jordan. Upon concluding their visit, Prince Harry expressed his concern on Channel 4 News, emphasizing the critical need for the immediate opening of aid corridors to ensure humanitarian organizations can deliver essential aid to those most in need.

Reflecting on their time in Jordan, Prince Harry underscored the importance of shedding light on the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region. He commended Jordan’s significant role as a moral leader and a humanitarian hub for the Middle East.

The royal couple’s itinerary included visits to the Za’atari refugee camp, where they witnessed firsthand the efforts to assist vulnerable communities affected by conflict. Additionally, they visited the Specialty Hospital in Amman, where they met and comforted a burns victim from Gaza, highlighting the personal connections they made during their trip.

On the second day, Prince Harry and Meghan visited the World Central Kitchen headquarters, which coordinates the distribution of a million hot meals daily in Gaza. This philanthropic partnership, established by the couple through Archewell, underscores their ongoing support for humanitarian causes.

The British Ambassador to Jordan, Philip Hall, expressed gratitude to the Duke and Duchess for their visit, acknowledging their appreciation of the collaborative efforts of various organizations in the region.

Overall, the royal couple’s trip to Jordan showcased their commitment to raising awareness of humanitarian challenges and supporting relief efforts for communities affected by conflict and displacement.
