A 23-year-old woman was apprehended following an alleged knife incident at an Asda store in Leeds. The arrest was made on grounds of suspected assault and possession of a bladed object in a public area.
West Yorkshire Police were alerted to the situation just after 4:30 pm on Wednesday when a customer reportedly wielded a knife at the Asda located on Killingbeck Drive. Security personnel managed to restrain the woman before law enforcement took her into custody. Subsequently, she was transported to a hospital due to a minor hand injury sustained during the incident.
A police representative disclosed that another woman also suffered a minor hand injury in the same altercation. The spokesperson conveyed, “At 4:36 pm yesterday, officers responded to reports of a customer making threats with a knife at Asda on Killingbeck Drive, Leeds. Security personnel detained a 23-year-old woman who was then arrested on suspicion of assault and carrying a bladed item in a public space. She has been hospitalized with a minor hand injury. Additionally, another woman sustained a minor hand injury. Leeds CID continues to investigate the incident.”
