“UK Citizens Urged to Register Amid Middle East Attacks”

Date:

The UK government is advising British citizens in the Middle East to register their whereabouts with the foreign office due to Iran’s ongoing attacks on neighboring nations.

Violence has erupted in the Middle East since Saturday, triggered by the US-led ‘Operation Epic Fury’ military strikes in collaboration with Israel against Iran. Iran has retaliated by launching missiles at various locations in the region, including Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, and Kuwait, targeting US air bases.

In response to the escalating situation, the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office has issued updated guidance, recommending against non-essential travel to Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE.

Following the recent events where US-Israeli missiles killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran has retaliated by targeting US bases and other sites, such as The Fairmont luxury hotel in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah.

The FCDO is advising British nationals in Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Palestine, Qatar, and the UAE to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and adhere to local authorities’ instructions.

Additionally, UK citizens are encouraged to register with the foreign office to receive real-time updates on the Middle East situation and monitor travel advice and crisis-related guidance.

Furthermore, individuals currently in Salalah or within 100km of the area are advised to depart if feasible using commercial means.
