“Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Claim Attack on USS Abraham Lincoln”

Date:

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have claimed responsibility for targeting the USS Abraham Lincoln, an American aircraft carrier, in the Gulf region. The attack reportedly occurred after the death of Iran’s supreme leader. According to the Guards’ statement relayed through local media, four ballistic missiles were launched at the USS Abraham Lincoln. They further warned that both land and sea would become increasingly perilous for what they referred to as “terrorist aggressors.”

While the US authorities have not confirmed the alleged strike on the aircraft carrier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has strongly refuted the claim. In a ‘fact check’ statement, CENTCOM clarified that the USS Abraham Lincoln was not hit and labeled the assertion as false.

CENTCOM also confirmed the loss of three US service members and injuries to five others in recent operations known as Operation Epic Fury. These incidents followed the reported death of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during missile strikes carried out by US-Israeli forces. In response, Tehran launched retaliatory attacks on several US bases in Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

The US military provided a statement acknowledging the casualties among service members and the ongoing combat operations. They indicated that three service members had been killed, five were seriously wounded, and others sustained minor injuries. The military emphasized that combat efforts continue, while additional details, including the identities of the fallen personnel, will be disclosed after notifying their next of kin.
