Bill Gates expressed regret for associating with Jeffrey Epstein, dismissing the sex trafficker’s emails as false in his initial response to the scandal. Newly disclosed files from the US Department of Justice contain an unsent email from Epstein alleging that Gates requested antibiotics to discreetly give to his then-wife after contracting an STD from encounters with Russian women.
In a recent interview with Australian outlet 9News, Microsoft co-founder Gates refuted the accusations as fabricated, stating that the email in question was never sent and was a misrepresentation. Gates admitted regret for any time spent with Epstein, clarifying that their interactions were primarily focused on soliciting funds for global health initiatives, which he now sees as a futile endeavor.
Although Gates acknowledged meeting Epstein in 2011 and sharing meals with him over a three-year period, he emphasized that he never visited Epstein’s island or engaged with any women associated with the financier. A spokesperson for Gates previously denounced the claims as baseless and untrue.
Regarding the controversial emails, Gates’ ex-wife, Melinda, expressed personal difficulty when confronted with such details, reminiscing about distressing moments in their marriage. She emphasized the need for accountability from those directly involved, highlighting the emotional toll caused by Epstein’s actions and the individuals associated with him.
